Leave of Absence (LOA) is an approved period of time for people who will be away from the workplace for a length of time.
Here are the requirements and guidelines for LOAs:
All LOA’s need to be approved by a Leave of Absence Admin.
You need to request the LOA badge.
You must add LOA to the end of your motto.
If you do not return from your LOA by your return date, you will be removed from HIA.
Failure to meet these guidelines will invalidate your LOA or your LOA will not be approved.
If you aren't able to request the LOA badge and or add LOA to motto, be sure to include that in your request.
Non-elective LOA Rules:
Non elective ranks will have their badges removed on the 15th day of inactivity. Their LOA must be approved by a LOA Admin.
If an elective is on LOA, they cannot approve other LOAs.
You CANNOT approve your own LOA. This will lead to badges being removed.
All LOA's must have a return date or they will not be approved. If you don't have a return date, this will risk you being removed from HIA.
Non-elective ranks are allowed up to 3 months of LOA. If you need to be away longer, please talk to a Directorate and a decision will be made.
Elective LOA Rules:
Elective ranks (5iC-iC) who go inactive after a consecutive 5 days without LOA will risk getting a demotion or being removed from HIA. Elective ranks need their LOA approved by a 1iC+.
Elective ranks are allowed up to 65 days of LOA with an extension of 25 days for special circumstances per year. If you need to be away longer, please talk to a Directorate and a decision will be made.
If your LOA exceeds 65 days and 25 days, you will be given a demotion due to abuse of the LOA system unless given permission by Directorates.
If you are not on LOA and you do not complete your report, you will be given a strike as punishment.
You can not approve your own LOA or approve anyone else's while you are on Leave of Absence.
Failure to return:
Failing to obey the rules mentioned above will lead to removal of badges.
You may be allowed to return as a member of [HIA], however you will face suitable amount of demotion according to the period of inactivity.
Up to 2 months of inactivity will result in a 2 division demotion.
After one year of inactivity, you will be terminated from employment.
LOA In-base Rules:
If you are on Leave of Absence, you are NOT allowed to work at any stations (FTF, FTS, FTT, FTTD, FTHD) but may still come into HIA.
All HIA rules still must be followed while you’re on LOA and you’re in base (See the Code of Conduct for the rules).
You are required to wear your LOA badge and have LOA in your motto while in base.
Be warned, if you are on Leave of Absence you will NOT be able to claim pay or receive a promotion.
Also, if you are on LOA you are not allowed to promote anyone. This is applicable to all ranks.
If someone is removed or demoted following them overstaying their LOA, it will be all logged on the Portal with screenshot evidence of how long they have been offline for, and proof they overstayed using the return date.
Please note, abusing the LOA system will result in your LOA being denied and further punishment.
How do I request a Leave of Absence?
If you wish to apply for a Leave of Absence here at HIA, please contact an LOA Admin on Slack by going to #request and requesting for one. Please remember that in order to request a LOA, you MUST first have requested the LOA on Portal and the LOA badge on Habbo. This can be found up on the wall around the main HQ.
How do I request the LOA Badge?
If you are going on LOA, you need to have the badge in your profile and wear it. You also need to have LOA in your motto as well.
To request the badge, you click the LOA pennant which is found in base.
Once you have clicked it, you then click “Request Membership”.
When your LOA is approved your badge will be accepted to confirm you are on Leave of Absence.
Once your LOA is over, we ask that you please leave the badge as you will no longer need it.
As a member of the Security Division, you must ensure that your request for the LOA badge has been accepted. If it has not been accepted within 48 hours, speak with any staff member that is 5iC or above and they can help you out. Visit the help desk and ask for assistance from a 5iC or above.
As a member of staff higher than Security, you have the ability to submit and track your LOA Requests on the HIA Web Portal. From the main dashboard, select the “LOA Hub” from the sidebar navigation menu.
From here you can view a full list of all employee's currently on LOA, You can track your own LOA status here.
If you would like to submit an LOA, you will need to click "Submit LOA" , then fill in all the boxes and then click "Submit LOA" again to submit it.
What do I do when I return?
Once you have completed your LOA, an LOA admin may contact you to make sure that you have returned to Habbo. The main thing is to come back, leave the LOA badge and return your motto to normal and carry on working. If for whatever reason you need to return early, then you must inform any LOA Admin so they can mark you as having returned.
Once they have marked you as returned, your LOA status will be updated on your dashboard.
